Aarthi Scans & Labs has announced the implementation of BoneXpert, an AI-powered bone age analysis solution, across all its 100 centres in India. The rollout covers the organisation’s nationwide diagnostics network.
BoneXpert has been developed by a Europe-based AI med-tech company and is CE-approved. The solution enables automated bone age assessment and is designed to deliver objective, accurate, and reproducible results. The technology removes inter- and intra-observer variability and provides consistent analysis from the same X-ray.
Dr Arunkumar Govindarajan, Director and Radiologist at Aarthi Scans and Labs, said, “Bone age assessment plays a crucial role in evaluating growth disorders and endocrine conditions. By implementing BoneXpert across all our network we are able to eliminate observer variability and provide consistent, clinically actionable reports using globally accepted standards. This strengthens diagnostic confidence and long-term treatment monitoring for both clinicians and patients.”
BoneXpert is used in the evaluation of growth and pubertal disorders, as well as in the diagnosis, management, and monitoring of endocrine conditions. The solution supports long-term tracking of skeletal growth and treatment response. By using artificial intelligence, the system enables faster turnaround times while maintaining clinical precision.
The solution uses a single left-hand X-ray to generate a multi-method assessment. This includes Greulich-Pyle bone age, Tanner-Whitehouse TW2 and TW3 bone age, carpal bone age, Bone Age SDS, and Bone Health Index. The assessment supports clinicians in the identification of constitutional growth delay and endocrine abnormalities.
With the availability of BoneXpert across its full network, Aarthi Scans & Labs has extended access to AI-based bone age assessment across India. The rollout supports paediatricians, endocrinologists, and orthopaedic specialists by providing standardised diagnostic reports.
According to the organisation, the implementation aligns with its focus on the adoption of AI-based technologies in diagnostic imaging and the delivery of diagnostic services to patients and clinicians in India.
