CK Birla Hospital partner with Intuitive to enhance adoption of robotic-assisted surgery

The collaboration will also include comprehensive technology training and support from Intuitive India for senior surgeons at the CK Birla Hospital

The CK Birla Hospital signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intuitive. This MOU will introduce the da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical system at the CK Birla Hospital

The installation of Intuitive’s fourth-generation robotic-assisted technology is set to support surgery, enabling precision and, in some cases, improved patient outcomes, such as reduced post-operative complications. The innovative features of the da Vinci system, such as advanced instrumentation and vision, empower surgeons with superior control and visualisation during surgical procedures.

Vipul Jain, Chief Business Officer, CK Birla Hospital said, “Through this MoU with Intuitive, we aim to redefine patient care by incorporating robotic-assisted surgery into our practices. The benefits of RAS are profound, with the potential to improve patients’ perioperative outcomes and quality of life and enhance precision for operating surgeons.”

The collaboration will also include comprehensive technology training and support from Intuitive India for senior surgeons at the CK Birla Hospital.

Intuitive Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer Henry Charlton said, “In the past decade, we have witnessed a global surge in the adoption of minimally invasive technology. Our MoU with the CK Birla Hospital underscores our commitment to work together with customers to enable access to innovative and outcomes-focused minimally invasive surgical technology.”

Mandeep Singh Kumar, VP and Country GM, Intuitive India said, “We are happy to collaborate with the CK Birla Hospital to help support access to minimally invasive care. Our focus is to work together with the CK Birla Hospital to build a successful robotic-assisted surgical program, and to provide the technology, training, data, customer services and support to assure that surgeons can provide top-notch care to their patients.”
