Fujifilm India has announced the launch of the FDR Smart X Essential series, a fully imported, premium yet compact Digital Radiography (DR) solution, developed to meet the growing demands of modern radiology departments.
The system’s space-efficient and ergonomic design supports radiology divisions in optimising available infrastructure while delivering consistent, high-quality imaging across routine and advanced examinations.
Fujifilm has been a pioneer in medical imaging with a strong legacy in image quality and innovation. While the company has held a significant presence in the CR segment, the market today is rapidly shifting toward DR and Fujifilm continues to lead this transition through meaningful, value-driven innovation.
Fujifilm’s DR portfolio integrates advanced imaging technologies such as Irradiated Side Sampling (ISS), Dynamic Visualisation, and Virtual Grid. ISS enables efficient signal capture directly from the X-ray–exposed surface of the detector, improving dose efficiency and preserving image detail.
Virtual Grid technology enhances image contrast and suppresses scatter without the need for a physical grid, while Dynamic Visualisation optimises image presentation across different anatomical regions. Together, these technologies support up to low radiation dose reduction, compared to conventional CR-based systems, without compromising diagnostic confidence.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is another key pillar of Fujifilm’s DR strategy. By incorporating AI-enabled image optimisation and workflow intelligence, Fujifilm help technologists achieve greater consistency, fewer repeat exposures, and improved departmental efficiency.
To address the diverse needs of the Indian healthcare ecosystem, Fujifilm is committed to offering DR solutions across all clinical segments—from tertiary hospitals to diagnostic centres and space-constrained facilities—enabling broader access to advanced radiography across both metro and non-metro regions.
As the DR market continues to grow, Fujifilm remains focused on enhancing patient safety, empowering radiology professionals, and driving the sustainable adoption of digital radiography in India.
