Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) announced the appointment of Dr Vivek Lal as their new CEO. During the momentous journey that has clocked more than a decade, S-ILF has relentlessly worked towards mainstreaming persons affected by leprosy and their families through socio-economic empowerment. We look forward towards charting new territories and forging new partnerships under his leadership.
Upon his appointment, Tarun Das, Chairman S-ILF said, “We are proud to have Dr Vivek Lal as the CEO of our Foundation. I am confident that with his enthusiasm and experience in the field of leprosy, he will drive the organisation to new heights. During this global pandemic, Vivek’s experience in humanitarian services will be of great help in reaching out to the most vulnerable members of the society – the leprosy affected population residing in secluded leprosy colonies.”
Dr Lal is a medical practitioner with specialisation in Community Medicine from AIIMS, Delhi. He has several years of experience working in the field of leprosy and humanitarian services and has earlier worked as Director Health at German Leprosy & TB Relief Association.
“I am excited to be a part of S-ILF. A holistic approach incorporating both medical and social supports for persons affected by leprosy and their families along with an enabling environment brought in through awareness generation among the community are the biggest weapons in our fight against leprosy. I look forward to being a part of this journey: a constant pursuit to restore dignity in their lives”, said Dr Lal.
