Six Research Abstracts from M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre Presented at ASCO 2026

Studies examined nutrition, genomics, patient-reported outcomes, and real-world cancer care data from Western India

M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre presented six research abstracts at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting 2026, held from May 29 to June 2, 2026.

The studies drew on real-world clinical data from cancer patients treated across the network and focused on areas including nutrition, genomics, patient-reported outcomes, and treatment patterns in oncology care.

One of the studies examined the impact of treatment-related side effects on nutritional intake and recovery among cancer patients, highlighting the importance of regular nutritional assessment during treatment.

Other studies explored real-world outcomes in patients with MSI-high colon cancer and assessed the role of comprehensive genomic profiling in informing treatment decisions. Additional research evaluated the prevalence of DNA repair pathway alterations in solid tumours, the implementation of structured care programmes in community oncology settings, and the assessment of cancer-related distress using standardised screening tools in routine clinical practice.

Collectively, the studies provided insights into various aspects of cancer care delivery and highlighted the use of real-world evidence to better understand patient outcomes in the Indian context.

Commenting on the research presented at ASCO 2026, Dr Vashishth Maniar, Co-founder and Director, M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre, said, The abstracts presented at ASCO 2026 were based on data generated from routine clinical practice and reflected several areas of ongoing research within our network. The studies examined topics ranging from nutrition and genomic profiling to multidisciplinary care approaches and their relevance in oncology practice.”

He added, The nutrition-focused study sought to better understand the relationship between nutritional status, treatment tolerance, and clinical outcomes among cancer patients, an area that continues to receive growing attention in oncology care.”

Dr Ashish Joshi, Co-founder and Director, M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre, said, These studies reflect ongoing efforts to generate clinical evidence from real-world practice settings. Presenting this research at ASCO provided an opportunity to share findings from Indian patient populations and contribute to broader discussions on cancer care delivery and patient outcomes.”
