The life of these artificial joints has also improved considerably. So, these joints can these joints can now last for 20-25 years. The latest addition to the techniques of knee replacement includes using patient specific instrumentation (PSI) after making customised jigs for the patient as per the shape, size and deformity of their knees. By using this technique the accuracy of doing knee replacement increases to more than 99 per cent. This technology increases the accuracy of the joint replacement and gives quick recovery at no significant extra cost.”
