Survivors Against TB (SATB) has launched a new community-driven framework titled My Care, My Metrics: A Framework for High-Quality TB Care in India.

The framework is the outcome of months of consultations with TB survivors, caregivers, clinicians, public health experts and frontline health workers. It sets out to redefine quality TB care as centred on the lived realities, rights and needs of people affected by TB.

According to SATB, India has expanded TB services, but challenges such as diagnostic delays, treatment continuity, mental health support and affordability continue to affect the response. The organisation stated that the quality of care should be redefined as person-centred, accountable and responsive.

The framework includes:

  • A shift from programmatic metrics to person-centred indicators
  • Actionable guidance for clinicians, policymakers and implementers
  • Recommendations rooted in lived experience and field realities
  • Core components such as shared decision-making, continuity of care, integrated mental health support and survivor feedback loops

To enable practical use, SATB has also released three implementation guidebooks. These are tailored for doctors, healthcare workers and patients, and contain actionable steps for delivering and demanding high-quality TB care.
