Stakeholders discuss use of artificial intelligence in healthcare innovation ahead of India–AI Impact Summit 2026

A pre-summit event titled “AI Impact in biotech and medtech innovation – The Next Frontier” was held at the FITT, IIT Delhi Auditorium ahead of the India–AI Impact Summit 2026. The event brought together AI-driven biotech and medtech startups, investors, clinicians, and ecosystem participants to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare. The forum focused on applications of AI in diagnostics, disease management, cancer care, and healthcare solutions designed for scale.

The agenda included two expert-led panel discussions, startup pitch sessions featuring 12 shortlisted AI healthtech startups, and networking sessions with more than 15 potential investors. Discussions addressed how artificial intelligence supports faster analysis of large datasets and improves access to advanced analytics, with an aim to support the scale-up of healthcare solutions aligned with India’s population needs and resource settings.

Tarun Chaturvedi, Chief Operating Officer, FITT IIT Delhi, said, “AI is enabling faster and more efficient healthcare innovation by turning large datasets into meaningful in-depth insights. While India is still at an early stage of AI adoption, the country is poised to see a strong surge in successful AI startups and enterprises over the next three to five years.”

Sandeep Nailwal, Founder, BFI, highlighted the role of collaboration across the ecosystem and said, “India has the capability to take AI-driven healthcare solutions to the global stage. For this to happen, technologies must be implemented at scale to reach the ground level. Platforms like this pre-summit event help align startups, innovators, experts, funders, and institutions to ensure AI innovations are accessible, impactful, and globally relevant.”

The pre-summit event highlighted ongoing activity in AI-led healthcare in India and outlined areas for collaboration and pilot partnerships in the lead-up to the India–AI Impact Summit 2026.
