Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhupendra S. Avasthi, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, Surya Hospitals, said, “Women’s healthcare requires dedicated infrastructure that can address not only preventive and diagnostic needs but also specialised surgical interventions. The Amber Wing has been created as an advanced surgical centre for women, adding significant capacity to our existing unit and enabling access to specialised surgeries, critical care, and integrated treatment pathways under one roof. Our vision is to provide women with timely diagnosis, advanced surgical expertise, and compassionate care through a world-class healthcare ecosystem.”

The Amber Wing has been conceptualised to address the growing need for integrated and specialised women’s healthcare infrastructure in India and will house additional 55 beds, making the total strength to 250+ beds for dedicated women and child centric healthcare infrastructure at Santacruz; specialised consultation chambers; advanced diagnostics and screening support; cardiology and cardiac surgery; center of excellence for Ambulatory and Robotic Joint replacement surgery; plastic and cosmetic surgeries; minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgeries; state of the art critical care facilities; center of excellence for Robotic Surgery (Coming soon) and preventive health screening programmes for women

Yami Gautam Dhar said, “Women’s health often takes a backseat as many women prioritise the well-being of their families over their own. Dedicated healthcare initiatives such as the Amber Wing are important in encouraging timely consultations, regular screenings, greater awareness around preventive care along with specialised surgical treatment when needed. I am pleased to support an initiative that brings focused attention to women’s health and early diagnosis.”

The facility will enable us to introduce and expand key specialties including Cardiac Sciences, Cardiac Surgery, Orthopedics, and Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery, supported by modern infrastructure and multidisciplinary expertise. With this expansion, we aim to improve access to advanced clinical services while continuing to deliver care through technology, expertise, and coordinated medical support.”

As part of the launch, Surya Hospitals also introduced “The Amber Promise for Women’s Health”, a symbolic awareness-led initiative aimed at encouraging women to prioritise preventive healthcare, regular screenings, and timely medical intervention. The initiative invited guests, doctors, healthcare professionals, and attendees to share messages and commitments around women’s health and preventive care, reinforcing the need for stronger awareness and initiative-taking healthcare behaviour among women.

Yami Gautam Dhar participated in the initiative by sharing a message encouraging women to place greater focus on preventive health and early diagnosis.
