Onco-Life Cancer Centre organised a Doctors’ Scientific Evening, bringing together oncologists, surgeons, radiation specialists, physicians and healthcare professionals for a programme focused on scientific learning, collaboration and professional networking.

According to the organisers, the programme focused on recent developments in cancer treatment while highlighting the role of multidisciplinary care in improving patient outcomes.

The academic sessions covered developments in oncology, including the use of Helical TomoTherapy in the management of complex cancer cases, precision oncology, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and surgical approaches such as organ preservation, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and multidisciplinary treatment planning.

The programme also featured a panel discussion on the future of multidisciplinary cancer care, where specialists from different disciplines discussed approaches to delivering evidence-based treatment. The academic sessions concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session followed by closing remarks.

The event also included a scientific presentation by Elekta, the title sponsor, on developments in Online Adaptive Technology and its application in precision radiation therapy.

Following the academic sessions, participating doctors attended a networking programme that provided an opportunity to exchange clinical experiences across specialties.

The organisers also hosted a stand-up comedy programme featuring comedians Shamik Chakrabarti, Rohit Shah and Siddhartha Shetty, followed by dinner and networking. According to the organisers, the programme enabled healthcare professionals to interact outside the clinical setting and strengthen professional relationships.

Uday Deshmukh, Chairman and Founder CEO, Onco-Life Cancer Centre, said, “Cancer care is advancing rapidly, and continuous scientific learning is essential to ensure patients receive the most appropriate and evidence-based treatment. Meetings like these allow specialists from different disciplines to discuss emerging therapies, exchange clinical experiences, and work towards a more collaborative approach to cancer management. Such academic interactions ultimately translate into better treatment planning and improved outcomes for patients.”

Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director, Onco-Life Cancer Centre, said, “Our objective was to create a platform where scientific discussions, technological advancements, and multidisciplinary collaboration could come together in one setting. Equally important was providing an opportunity for doctors to connect beyond their clinical responsibilities, strengthen professional relationships, and continue building a collaborative healthcare ecosystem that benefits both clinicians and patients.”

According to the organisers, the scientific meeting reflects Onco-Life Cancer Centre’s focus on oncology education, multidisciplinary collaboration and continuous medical learning to support cancer care.
