Envista, a global dental player has launched Kerr Consumables in India. It expands its presence into the general dental consumables market.

Envista has been in India for more than 20 years. It introduced Nobel Biocare in 2004 and has since expanded into implants, orthodontics, clear aligners and dental imaging.

In a statement on the launch, Paul Keel, CEO, Envista, said, “India is one of Envista’s strategic growth markets globally, and its growing dental infrastructure, evolving clinical practices and increasing demand for high-quality restorative care present significant opportunities for the future. The launch of Kerr is an important milestone in our commitment to India, where we are making significant investments to ensure our customers can provide better patient care.”

In an interaction with Express Pharma, Keel said that a global company like Envista cannot have a successful future without a strong presence in the major markets, including North America, Europe, China and India. He added that the company needs to continue investing in India.

Keel said India is important to Envista not just as a market, but also for its clinical and technology capabilities.

Eye on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities

Envista is also looking beyond the metros.

It is seeing greater awareness of oral health, rising demand for restorative and aesthetic procedures and growing demand for more efficient, digital workflows. The company plans to strengthen its presence across key dental markets, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, through greater clinician engagement and a multi-city roadshow with international experts following the launch.

Vikrant Trilokekar, MD, Envista India and South Asia, said, “Our focus is on bringing the right new products and innovative solutions to Indian dental professionals, backed by exceptional local service and technical support. Through trusted brands, scientific education and partnerships, we aim to enhance customer experience and contribute to a stronger, more connected dental ecosystem.”

Local manufacturing

Envista does not currently manufacture in India, but Keel said local manufacturing could be a possibility as the market grows.

He also pointed to the gap between demand for dental care and the number of clinicians available to serve patients as a structural opportunity in the market.

Kerr, which is marking its 135th anniversary this year, will focus on restorative and endodontic dentistry in India, supported by clinician education, workshops and scientific collaborations.
