Manipal Hospitals opens hi-tech multispecialty facility
Manipal Hospitals Goa, a part of Manipal Health Enterprises (MHE), announced the expansion of its facility at Dona Paula to around 250 beds with the launch of its New Hospital Block. This will make the hospital one of the largest multispecialty tertiary hospitals in Goa. Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar inaugurated the new unit.
With an investment of over Rs 100 crores, the new hospital reportedly houses six state-of-the-art operation theatres, 32 high-end medical and surgical ICU beds, the latest equipment including an MRI and CT, and a superior emergency and casualty centre. The hospital will provide a range of preventive, curative and rehabilitative care.
Its super-speciality services, besides oncology, include cardiology and cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, nephrology and urology, orthopedics, gastroenterology and plastic surgery, among others. Round-the-clock laboratory, radiology and pharmacy services are also available for the patient’s convenience.
The expansion is part of the company’s extensive growth plans, both domestically and internationally. MHE aims to add 3,000 new beds in the next three years involving an investment of over Rs 1,000 crores. According to the Chief Minister of Goa, “Improving the healthcare infrastructure is a mandate and has always been our priority, we have and will always welcome influx of investments in Goa. The bequest of clinical excellence that Manipal Hospitals carries makes this multispeciality hospital the answer to today’s need of the world-class healthcare services. Goa is one of the fastest emerging states in healthcare, which makes such venture all the more important for the people of Goa.”
