Roche Diagnostics introduces high tech digital pathology platform
Roche Diagnostics has introduced an integrated pathology system and its first installation took place at Anand Diagnostic Laboratory, Bangalore. The Roche Diagnostics platform includes the iScan Coreo scanner and the Virtuoso digital pathology software.
Discussing the new technology at a meeting of pathologists in India, Guido Sander, MD, Roche Diagnostics India said, “From simply remotely viewing patient slides, to consulting specialists real time within India or even through other parts of the world – the applications of digital pathology are endless.”
The scanner reportedly provides high speed slide scanning, improved image quality, and advanced slide handling. The scanner is packaged with advanced image viewing software offering pathologists the ability to view and annotate digital images of scanned slides. Paired with the Virtuoso digital pathology software, iScan Coreo provides users with a complete digital pathology solution from image acquisition through customised reporting thus increasing operational efficiencies and productivity in the lab.
