Digitising hospital records made easy

62

Current Scenario
Today, 99 per cent of patients carry their physical medical records. This scenario is true despite the high penetration of technology across the world. Even in an emergency where a patient needs to be admitted in a hospital, there is no readily available data to screen and begin the medical treatment without any delay. Precious time is lost in understanding of any prevalent medical conditions of the patient such as blood group, Diabetes, Cholesterol, allergy, etc.

The problem
The world is moving from being net savvy to mobile savvy. Moving forward, the mobile would become the single source of all information and transactions. But today the biggest problem with healthcare is of digitising the health records. The governments of various countries and the private companies are working together to build platforms to digitise the medical records. The access to medical records should be made possible anytime at any place.

The solution
We have developed a mobile application which can help capture patient profile and medical records data along with his social security no through his mobile phone. Through the app one can capture key data of the patient like Diabetic, Blood Group, Cholesterol, etc. and also the corresponding reports. This will cut down on the response time and hence can give quick treatments to the patient.

The added feature to this would be that the patient can access his medical records from anywhere through the app. Even in emergencies one can access this data through a mobile or through the web. The hospital can enter his records online. All his doctor prescriptions, medical records, medications can be uploaded on to the app. In future the patient just walks into the hospital for his appointment and the doctor can view all his records on to the desktop or the mobile. Thus this allows a larger base of application of the technology. It will also store other important information such as family history, family contacts, insurance, etc. For new born babies it becomes ideal as it will automatically give reminders for vaccinations and can capture the same on the application.

Benefits to hospital
Hospital need not store any of the data as it’s stored on the cloud with access at any time. This becomes an extended service from the hospital to the patient. In today’s competitive world this also becomes an important marketing tool. The app will be branded with the hospital name and can be integrated to their systems very easily.

Market
There is no such technology available today which integrates data collection with the medical records and access from any web browser.

How it works
The app can be downloaded on any smart phone or pad. Through this the patient registers at his convenience. An authentication OTP is sent to the patient on his mobile along with a link to download the app on to his mobile. Once the patient data is collected, the patient can upload his medical records which would be stored in a chronological order. Once the API link with the path labs is done then the patient will receive all his medical reports on the app. Once the data is stored in the device, then this data gets on to a server the moment it gets access to a data connection. This data can be viewed by the patient or the healthcare provider from any web browser and such data can be analysed for further action. Also any patient who needs medical attention can be given due care.
