To establish accredited Medical Aesthetics Training Programme in Asia-Pacific

Allergan, leading medical aesthetics company, has entered into a partnership with England’s Anglia Ruskin University to develop a master’s degree programme in non-invasive facial aesthetics for physicians practicing in the Asia-Pacific region. The announcement was made following the Allergan Academy Asia Pacific Inaugural Faculty Summit, which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 21-22 March, 2015.

The programme which will be accredited by Anglia Ruskin University, is reportedly designed to empower medical aesthetics experts across the Asia Pacific region to achieve new levels of clinical excellence in the field through practical and progressive learning methods. The programme will be developed in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University.

“There is tremendous growth in the aesthetics industry in the Asia-Pacific region which signifies the need for practitioners to remain at the forefront of the latest technologies and techniques in order to deliver the highest level of patient satisfaction and safety. This is where Allergan Academy comes in; to create a prestigious community of experts that can help accelerate quality in aesthetic care for patients,” said Narendra Kumar, Head of Medical Education, Allergan Asia-Pacific.

“Allergan is committed to providing the highest quality educational programmes, and for over 60 years, we have assumed a leadership position in ensuring healthcare practitioners are properly trained to deliver safe and efficacious treatments to their patients,” asserted Kumar.

Allergan Academy Asia Pacific is an educational platform that aims to empower medical aesthetic practitioners to enhance their clinical expertise in the field.

Dr Sharon McDonald, Head of Department, Department of Medicine and Healthcare Science, Faculty of Medical Science at Anglia Ruskin University, was present at the summit to launch the collaboration. She said, “We aim to work closely with Allergan and the faculty heads of Allergan Academy Asia Pacific to provide an educational platform to support the development of a new generation of leading practitioners and advance the industry standard for medical aesthetics.”
