Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Navi Mumbai, hosted a train-the-trainer live surgical workshop on 28 March 2026 focused on gynaecological endoscopy training for practitioners. The workshop was led by Dr Prashant Bhamare, HOD and Director – Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the hospital.

The programme included three Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) procedures. One procedure included Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy involving removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes. Another procedure focused on TLH with endometriosis. The third procedure involved TLH in a patient with a history of two Caesarean sections.

The workshop focused on management of uterine fibroids. The procedures included cases involving prior surgeries such as caesarean sections and fibroid removal. Energy devices were used during the surgeries.

Dr Prashant Bhamare said, “The workshop provided an exceptional opportunity for young caregivers to gain hands-on experience about advanced laparoscopic techniques. The focus on complex cases, such as managing fibroids in patients with prior surgeries, was important for teaching the latest approaches to surgery. I’m confident that this practical experience will significantly help improve patient outcomes.”

The event included teaching sessions on laparoscopic procedures and use of energy devices for tissue cutting and coagulation.

Nitin Kamaria, Facility Director, Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Navi Mumbai, said, “At Fortis, we believe in nurturing the skills of our clinical and nursing teams so they can provide the best care possible. With Dr. Bhamare leading the way, we’ve been able to help clinicians across the city gain hands-on expertise in advanced gynaecological endoscopic techniques. This workshop was a wonderful opportunity for doctors to learn, share experiences, and grow together. We are proud to have hosted such a meaningful event.”

The workshop was attended by consultants from the hospital and doctors from civic institutions and private hospitals in Navi Mumbai. The programme included a keynote by Dr Bindhu KS, President, Navi Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society.

The hospital stated that the workshop is part of its ongoing programmes in medical education and surgical training.
