FUJIFILM India inaugurates endoscopy manufacturing facility in Jodhpur
Move aligns with Make in India initiative and expands local production of endoscopy systems
FUJIFILM India has announced the inauguration of endoscopy manufacturing operations in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The company stated that the development marks a milestone in its endoscopy operations in India and aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative.
The inauguration was attended by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Government of India, as Chief Guest, and Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Medical, Health & Family Welfare, Government of Rajasthan, as Guest of Honour. Haruto Iwata, Managing Director, FUJIFILM Asia Pacific, and Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India, along with representatives from the healthcare sector and government institutions, were present at the event.
The company stated that the expansion advances its healthcare manufacturing capabilities in India and supports local production of healthcare technologies. The initiative follows Fujifilm’s Japanese quality and localisation standards and integrates production processes and quality systems.
Under the localisation framework, FUJIFILM India will manufacture endoscopy systems designed to address diagnostic requirements and endoscopic examinations. The systems are equipped with LED light sources that control multi-coloured LED illumination and image processing technologies to deliver images for diagnostic requirements. Features include Blue Light Imaging (BLI), which supports visualisation of blood vessels and microstructures of the mucosal surface, and Linked Color Imaging (LCI), which highlights colour differences in red regions of the image to support physicians during examinations.

FUJIFILM India stated that it will consider expanding the scope of Made in India offerings to support neighbouring markets and strengthen India’s role as a manufacturing and supply base within its global healthcare network.
