Maarga Mind Care launches new centre in Gurgaon to offer end-to-end mental health services
The institution aims to establish 25 centers with 1000+ beds across India by 2030
Maarga Mind Care, a leading mental health institution based in Bengaluru, has launched its new centre in Gurgaon, marking its entry into North India. The expansion reflects its commitment to make compassionate and evidence-based mental healthcare more accessible across the country.
Despite rising stress, anxiety, depression and urban isolation – more pronounced in the post-pandemic era— mental health in India continues to be clouded by stigma and low awareness. Maarga Mind Care steps in with science-backed, empathetic, and lifestyle-aligned care designed to shift mindsets and close the gap in access to quality treatment.
Maarga Mind Care holds the distinction of being the private mental health provider empanelled with the U.S. Embassy (South India) and a trusted partner of the Canadian Embassy across India. With its signature “C2R+ (Crisis to Recovery and beyond)” model, the new Gurgaon center will offer end-to-end mental health services, encompassing adult, child, adolescent, and geriatric psychiatry, de-addiction and rehabilitation programs, neuromodulation treatments such as TMS and Ketamine therapy, as well as psychological counselling and psychometric assessments.
They also offer inpatient services and 24/7 emergency retrievals for mental health emergencies. In addition, patients will be supported through a wide range of expressive and holistic therapies, including art, dance, music, drama and yoga that address emotional well-being, lifestyle balance, and creative self-expression. Each patient is treated with dignity, empathy, and understanding, ensuring care that heals both the mind and the heart.
Speaking on the launch, Dr. Jothi Neeraja, Founder, Chairperson, and Managing Director, People Tree Hospitals and Maarga Mind Care, said, “Mental health deserves the same continuity, compassion, and clinical depth as any other branch of medicine. With Maarga, our vision is to create a safe and stigma-free ecosystem where every individual, from a child battling anxiety to a senior facing depression, can receive holistic, evidence-based care under one roof. The Gurgaon centre is another step in our mission to make integrated world-class mental healthcare accessible across India.”
“At Maarga, we believe recovery is not just about managing symptoms, it’s about restoring balance and meaning to life,” added Dr. Girishchandra, Medical Director and Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, Maarga Mind Care. “Our integrative approach helps people find joy, connection, and purpose by fusing medical knowledge with creative and thoughtful therapies. We are excited to introduce this strategy to Gurgaon, where there is a huge demand for comprehensive mental health care” he adds.
Speaking on the launch, Dr. Abhishek Hariharan Kandluri, Co-founder and Executive Director, Maarga Mind Care said, “India is facing a deepening mental health crisis—nearly one in seven people live with a mental health issue, yet the treatment gap remains staggeringly large, with more than 80% not receiving adequate care. Nationally, we face an acute shortage of dedicated psychiatric beds, with fewer than 3 beds per 100,000 population, while the WHO recommends at least 30 beds per 100,000. At Maarga Mind Care, we are committed to bridging this gap—offering world-class, compassionate treatment that honors every patient’s dignity, while fostering a workplace culture where our teams are valued, supported, and empowered. We plan to invest approximately INR 300 crores over the next few years to realize our vision.”
The Gurgaon expansion marks an important milestone in Maarga’s journey toward establishing a pan-India presence, growing from its flagship 40-bed facility in Bengaluru to a network of 25 centres with over 1000+ beds by 2030. With this expansion, Maarga Mind Care continues to champion a comprehensive and humanistic approach to mental wellness, setting new benchmarks for psychiatric care in India through innovation, empathy, and community engagement.
