Mahajan Imaging & Labs launches new integrated diagnostics centre in Dwarka with India’s first AI-powered ultra-fast MRI
Delhi Lieutenant Governor inaugurates facility featuring Excel 3T MRI and advanced diagnostics to support early detection and cardiac care
Mahajan Imaging & Labs has opened a new integrated diagnostics centre in Dwarka, Delhi, featuring India’s first AI-powered Ultra-Fast MRI scanner, Excel 3T. The centre was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, and is located in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sector 13.
The Excel 3T MRI, introduced for the first time in India, is designed to deliver sharper, high-resolution images with up to 50 percent improvement in signal-to-noise ratio. The system enables reduced scan durations, including cardiac MRI scans, which can now be completed in 30–40 minutes. Features such as real-time motion correction, AI-driven image reconstruction, and contactless respiratory tracking are expected to enhance diagnostic precision and accessibility for children, the elderly, and patients with claustrophobia.
Vinai Kumar Saxena stated, “This centre showcases the future of healthcare. It makes me proud that Delhi is the first city in India to host this level of diagnostic innovation. The rise of NCD’s, especially cardiac disease, is alarming and I am glad that private service providers are playing a pivotal role. We are ensuring that all residents of Delhi have access to affordable diagnostics and health services by upgrading our hospital infrastructure. I invite private healthcare providers to partner with the Government in this endeavour.”
According to Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Founder and Chairman, Mahajan Imaging & Labs, the aim behind the centre was to integrate advanced diagnostics with a patient-centric design. “When we set out to build the Dwarka centre, the goal was not just to introduce the latest technology—it was to rethink how diagnostics should feel for a patient. We wanted to create a space where clinical precision meets emotional comfort, where the most advanced AI-powered imaging systems work seamlessly within an environment designed to reduce fear, anxiety, and confusion. This centre represents years of learning, innovation, and listening to what patients truly need.”
Dr. Mahajan added, “There is a growing clinical demand for Cardiac MRI, driven by increased awareness among clinicians of its superior diagnostic value in evaluating myocardial structure, function, and viability. Traditionally, Cardiac MRI has posed challenges due to prolonged acquisition times and the need for high patient compliance. The newly installed Excel 3T MRI system addresses these limitations through the integration of AI-powered acceleration techniques, enabling up to 50 per cent reduction in scan time. This not only enhances patient comfort and compliance but also delivers significantly improved spatial and temporal resolution—ultimately leading to more accurate and confident diagnoses.”
The new centre provides integrated services including imaging, laboratory medicine, and genetic testing. Specialised services in neuroimaging, musculoskeletal scans, and cardiac diagnostics are part of the facility’s offerings. The space incorporates energy-efficient systems, natural lighting, and local materials, alongside water reuse mechanisms.
The launch comes in the context of rising non-communicable diseases in India. According to the World Health Organization, 63 percent of deaths in India are due to NCDs, with 27 percent attributable to cardiovascular disease. Nearly 45 percent of all deaths in the 40–69 age group are linked to cardiovascular disease. Research shows that Indians experience cardiovascular disease about a decade earlier than Europeans, with higher rates of fatality and premature death—particularly in cities like Delhi NCR.
Kabir Mahajan, Chief Operating Officer, Mahajan Imaging & Labs, said, “With the Dwarka centre, our aim is to make quality diagnostics more accessible to people in their own communities while ensuring optimal patient comfort and experience. We’ve built a strong pathology network that connects neighbourhood collection points, clinics, and doctors, ensuring that tests are processed quickly and efficiently across the region along with multiple full-fledged radiology centres.”
He further noted, “We want to continue to be at the forefront of quality focused Integrated Diagnostics in Delhi NCR and North India. We hope to play a bigger role in preventive health for Non-Communicable Diseases, and will introduce dedicated facilities that marry Genomics, Lab medicine and high-end Radiology.”
The Dwarka centre is equipped with diagnostic technologies including a 128-slice cardiac CT scanner, Full Field Digital mammography, AI-enabled 3D/4D Ultrasound, Digital X-Ray, Dexa BMD, Echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and PFT systems. Many machines are AI-integrated to support faster and more accurate diagnostics.
