Oxygen Times launches SomniScan, India’s first branded at‑home sleep diagnostic solution
SomniScan aims to establish a new benchmark in diagnostic accuracy, clinical reliability, and patient convenience across India.
Oxygen Times, India’s largest respiratory e-commerce platform, announced the launch of SomniScan, a branded at-home sleep diagnostic solution designed to bring advanced sleep testing directly into Indian homes.
The name SomniScan reflects the company’s focus on precision sleep diagnostics — derived from “Somni,” meaning sleep, and “Scan,” representing structured clinical evaluation — symbolising a comprehensive scan of sleep health conducted in the comfort of one’s home.
SomniScan represents a significant evolution in sleep diagnostics by offering hospital‑grade sleep studies that are manually scored and clinically interpreted by certified sleep professionals. Unlike generic or local sleep tests that may rely solely on basic automated scoring, SomniScan adheres to the latest AASM 3.0 standards and incorporates detailed manual scoring to ensure high sensitivity in detecting even subtle abnormalities in breathing patterns, oxygen desaturation, airflow limitations, snoring severity, and body positions changes during sleep.
The at-home sleep study under the SomniScan brand is offered at an accessible starting price, positioning it among the most affordable yet comprehensive sleep diagnostics available in India. The Level 3 sleep study, suitable for identifying conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea, is available at a price of ₹1,899, while advanced polysomnography options for more complex or severe sleep disorders are offered at approximately ₹6,000. Reports are delivered within 24 hours, enabling timely clinical decision-making and treatment planning.
All studies are conducted in the familiar surroundings of the patient’s own bed, where natural sleep patterns are more likely to be preserved. Home testing also helps minimize the “first-night effect” often observed in laboratory settings, where unfamiliar environments may influence sleep architecture and data quality.
“In sleep medicine, precision is everything,” said Pranav Kaistha, Sleep Diagnostics Specialist (RPSGT) & Co-Founder, SomniScan. “We frequently encounter reports that lack standardization or comprehensive clinical review. Sleep testing is highly technique-sensitive — from accurate data acquisition and electrode placement to signal integrity, artifact management, and manual scoring. If even one step is compromised, diagnostic accuracy and severity classification can be affected.”
“SomniScan was built to close this critical quality gap. In sleep diagnostics, accuracy directly drives treatment decisions and long-term patient outcomes. Our commitment is clear: structured AASM-aligned protocols, certified manual scoring, and reports clinicians can confidently rely on.”
With the launch of SomniScan, Oxygen Times is reinforcing its commitment to accuracy-driven sleep diagnostics that physicians can confidently rely on while managing their patients. By embedding standardised protocols, certified manual scoring, and clinical oversight into every study, SomniScan aims to ensure that treatment decisions are guided by dependable, high-quality data.
