Roche Diagnostics India appoints Dr Shravan Subramanyam as Managing Director

Dr Shravan Subramanyam will head operations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan

Roche Diagnostics India has appointed Dr Shravan Subramanyam as the Managing Director, for its operations in India and the neighbouring markets, comprising Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.

Guido Sander, who was earlier the Managing Director of Roche Diagnostics India, has shifted base to Singapore, to head high growth markets for Roche Diagnostics’ Asia Pacific business. His portfolio, which includes India, now also covers Vietnam, Myanmar, Pakistan and Indonesia.

Speaking about Dr Subramanyam’s appointment, Sander said, “I am pleased to welcome Dr Subramanyam to Roche. His wide experience covering pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, in countries which are at different stages of healthcare evolution will be valuable for the growth plans of the Roche Diagnostics India and neighbouring markets business. We are the IVD market leader in India, and are increasingly focusing on enabling patient benefit, through our customers. Dr Subramanyam’s interest in patient care is synergistic with the organisation’s vision for the future.”

A physician from Madras Medical College, Dr Subramanyam completed his Masters’ degree in Health Administration at Cornell University, where he served on the alumni board. He has a passion for diagnostics, and is particularly keen on exploring ‘personalised healthcare’, with the goal of “providing the right treatment for the right group of patients.”
