Yashoda Medicity partners with Intuitive to launch robotic-assisted surgery training centre in Ghaziabad
The dual-bay facility aims to train surgeons across multiple specialties in robotic-assisted surgery and support broader adoption of advanced surgical technology in India
Yashoda Medicity, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, has partnered with Intuitive, a global provider of robotic-assisted surgical technology, to establish a robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) training centre. The initiative is aimed at equipping surgeons and care teams with the skills required to perform minimally invasive procedures across a range of specialities.
The training centre was inaugurated by Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Road Transport and Highways, in the presence of Sunil Sharma, Minister for IT and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The facility is designed to support standardised learning and provide immersive, hands-on training. It includes a dual-bay configuration, which enables parallel sessions and collaborative learning, increasing the capacity to train medical professionals in a more efficient and consistent manner.
Dr P.N. Arora, Chairman and Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said, “This is a proud and significant moment for all of us at Yashoda Medicity. Being among the first few hospitals in the country to establish a dual-bay robotic-assisted surgery training centre reflects our dedication to bringing global best practices to Indian healthcare. This centre will play a key role in training skilled surgeons and advancing surgical standards. We remain committed to building centres of excellence that drive progress and improve the future of patient care.”
Dr Upasana Arora, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, added, “This program shows our shared goal to support the ‘Heal in India’ initiative by improving surgical care and making advanced treatment more widely available. The establishment of this robotic-assisted surgical training centre is an important step toward making India a global destination for high-quality, minimally invasive procedures. By strengthening surgical capabilities and empowering clinicians with the latest technology, we aim to benefit patients across India and abroad, while contributing meaningfully to the country’s evolving healthcare landscape.”
Dr Myriam Curet, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Intuitive, stated, “At Intuitive, we believe that empowering surgeons with the right tools and training is key to improving patient outcomes. This new training centre with Yashoda Medicity marks an important step forward in how RAS technology training is delivered in India.”
Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Intuitive India, said, “The new training centre is part of our shared vision with Yashoda Group of Hospitals to expand access to robotic-assisted surgery, reduce variability in patient outcomes, and ultimately contribute to faster recovery time, lesser complications, and better quality of life for patients. We are proud of this collaboration with Yashoda to train our surgeons on da Vinci technology at the first-ever dual bay training centre in India.”
