MNLU Mumbai and NIPHTR host medical and health awareness camp
The aim of the camp was to provide easy access to healthcare and spread awareness about preventive health practices among the university community
The Centre for Applied Research in Public Health Law, Rights and Policy (CPHL), Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai in collaboration with NIPHTR (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India) organised a Medical and Health Awareness Camp on 8th April 2026 at MNLU Mumbai.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) Dilip Ukey, Vice-Chancellor, MNLU with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, in the presence of the Registrar, Dr Prakash Choudhary.
Dr Dhaval Thorat, Director, NIPHTR, Mumbai and Dr Superna Khera, Additional Director, NIPHTR provided their support to the initiative. NIPHTR also readily made available their medical professionals, Technologists and equipment for the program.

The aim of the camp was to provide easy access to healthcare and spread awareness about preventive health practices among the university community.
The camp witnessed an enthusiastic participation, with over 110 students attending, along with faculty and staff members. A total of 13 NIPHTR doctors and medical professionals from different fields, including general medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, ayurveda, homeopathy, public health, nutrition, and medical laboratory technology, were present to provide consultations. Basic health check-ups like blood pressure, blood sugar, and haemoglobin tests were also conducted, making the camp helpful and accessible.
CPHL student advisors, convenors and members also played a proactive and crucial role in organising the event on the ground.

Physiotherapy and nutrition services were in high demand, with longer queues for these consultations. Along with treatment, doctors also guided participants on preventive care, healthy habits, and overall well-being.
The event proved to be a meaningful step towards improving health awareness and access within the university.
