Healthfab signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh government to set up second manufacturing facility

FemCare brand Healthfab has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up its second manufacturing facility for period care products in Kuppam, Chittoor district. The company has acquired two acres of land for the project and plans to invest Rs 15 crore in the manufacturing unit.

The investment will be made towards factory infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, technology, quality assurance infrastructure and workforce development. The project is expected to generate over 700 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The proposed manufacturing facility will include production units, quality testing, warehousing, research and development, and administrative infrastructure. The company said the plant will have a monthly production capacity of more than four lakh period care panties. It also plans to manufacture reusable period panties, disposable period panties and other feminine hygiene products at the facility.

Healthfab’s first manufacturing facility is operational in Bengaluru.

Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Kiriti Acharjee, Co-founder and CEO, Healthfab, said, “This will be our second manufacturing facility with the first one being at Bangalore. As we build this unit, we will focus on sustainability being an important pillar in the overall design and development. The facility is being planned with energy-efficient machinery, responsible waste management and recycling practices, water conservation measures, reduced manufacturing waste through optimized production, and environmentally responsible sourcing and packaging.”

“We want to continue to strengthen quality control, innovation, production capacity, supply chain efficiency, and support the company’s long-term growth plans,” he added.

Healthfab recently raised Rs 20 crore in a Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital. The company said the funding will support its expansion plans. It is also backed by Mistry Ventures and Beyondseed of Singapore.
