Apollo Spectra Hospital Delhi hosts PERCON 2026 workshop on PCNL

Apollo Spectra Hospital, Delhi hosted the 13th International Live Operative Workshop on Basic and Advanced Techniques of PCNL (PERCON 2026). PERCON is a registered organisation dedicated to advancing education, training and innovation in healthcare.

The workshop was attended by more than 1,000 participants, including urologists and surgeons, along with global faculty, to discuss academic activities related to the minimally invasive technique of kidney stone treatment.

The two-day seminar was hosted by Apollo Spectra Hospital, Delhi, under the guidance of Dr. S. K. Pal, Senior Consultant Urologist, Apollo Spectra Hospital, New Delhi and Organizing Secretary, PERCON. The workshop, conducted on September 19 and 20, 2026, comprised live operative demonstrations, discussions and hands-on training for surgical skills.

The workshop saw participation from people in 28 countries, with its live proceedings broadcast globally. Various urology departments organised viewing sessions to watch the live operative workshop for learning and educational purposes. The workshop is hosted every year and is one of the largest in the world in live single surgery demonstrations.

Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) was the central theme of the workshop, which was conducted to enhance surgeons’ knowledge of an advanced minimally invasive technique for the treatment of complex renal stones. The workshop covered basic and advanced surgical techniques, providing attendees with information in endourology.

The event saw participation from urology surgeons from India and other countries, including international faculty from Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Iraq, Thailand and Ethiopia. The faculty included Dr. Git Kah Ann, Consultant Urologist, Pantai Hospital Penang, Malaysia; Dr. Hermie Zialcita, Consultant Urologist, National Kidney & Transplant Institute, Philippines; Dr. Hayder Ismael Jawad, Consultant Urologist, Al Yarmook Teaching Hospital, Iraq; Dr. Chinnakhet Ketsuwan, Consultant Urologist, Thailand; and Dr. Mekbeb Chere, Consultant Urologist, Ethiopia.

Participants had the opportunity to gain practical experience through interactive sessions and live surgical procedures performed at Apollo Spectra Hospital, Chirag Enclave, New Delhi.

Speaking on the conclusion of PERCON 2026, Dr. S. K. Despite developments in endourology and minimally invasive surgeries, PCNL is still significant in the treatment of complex renal stones. PERCON 2026 emphasised skill acquisition, technological development and international cooperation in urological care.
