Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisation (CAHO) with Dozee has partnered to host a roundtable conference for CXOs from the healthcare and med-tech industry on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the current healthcare ecosystem. With the overarching theme of transformative AI driving the flow of conversation, the speakers highlighted the impact of such technology on healthcare across domains.

Among the subjects discussed was the revolutionary potential of AI and cloud technology to transform healthcare. The conference also had an open house session where speakers deliberated on the challenges and opportunities that lie in the path of implementation of AI-based innovations.

Fr. Johnson Vazhappilly CMI, Chairman, Healthcare Division, CAHO, said, “Even though AI and its utilisation in healthcare are at its nascent stages, its potential to improve patient outcomes and transform the industry is significant. Already making a considerable impact in the fields of medical imaging, patient care, patient safety, drug discovery, and telemedicine, among others, AI is on a trajectory to make healthcare delivery more enhanced and cost-effective. This rapid integration of technology with healthcare will help reduce the workload on nurses and professionals allowing them to provide better care without compromising their quality of life.”

Elaborating further on increasing adoption of AI in healthcare, Gaurav Parchani, Co-Founder & CTO, Dozee said “To thrive in today’s normal, healthcare institutions must adopt solutions that offer the right interplay between technology and human excellence to enhance patient care delivery and reduce the workload on healthcare professionals. To reach the goal of a truly equitable healthcare ecosystem in India, Dozee is striving to make quality healthcare accessible, affordable, and available. Dozee is committed to making RPM and EWS more accessible to everyone, especially those who are most vulnerable to critical health decline. Through collaboration with doctors and other medical professionals, we believe we can positively impact millions of lives.”

A panel discussion on “Implementation of AI-Based Innovations” discussed how AI has the potential to transform healthcare, from improving patient care and safety to reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

During the panel discussion, Dr Vijay Agarwal, President, CAHO, the chairperson for the panel stated, “The rapid adoption of AI in Healthcare is reshaping how we diagnose and treat disease as technology continues to evolve, we can expect even more exciting and life-changing innovations in the years ahead. However, there does exist a gap when it comes to the huge number of innovations in the country and their adoption by end users. Part of the reason for such slow adoption is because in the healthcare sector, we’re dealing with human lives and the stakes are much higher, so there is a greater need for proceeding with caution.”

There was unanimous agreement among the panelists that AI-based Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Early Warning System (EWS) is the future of patient care and can significantly reduce mortality and morbidity. In addition, they believe that this technology can help doctors bridge the gap between primary and tertiary care by providing them with real-time data.

The speakers highlighted the growing challenges in the current healthcare landscape and how Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Early Warning Systems (EWS) can help CXOs enhance patient safety and drive higher efficiency to achieve healthcare equity.

Elizabeth David, Director – Nursing & Organizational Excellence, Rajagiri Hospital, shared her insights on how, “Dozee has been a valuable addition to our ongoing critical care outreach nursing teams who are not able to keep a tab on all the step-down cases.  Its Early warning system helps us pick up any early signs of clinical deterioration in the wards, thereby helping us to intervene in time, thus improving outcomes.  Hence we look forward to scaling remote monitoring system across our boards.”

As technology plays a key role in healthcare delivery environments, Dozee with CAHO aims to help healthcare providers build and implement secure, smart, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. Dozee and CAHO share years of a relationship dedicated to developing, building, and supporting healthcare providers to enhance patient safety and scale the adoption of technology to meet current and future healthcare requirements.
