Groundwork was laid for three new dialysis units in Bengaluru

DaVita Kidney Care and Manipal Hospitals have come together to provide world-class nephrology services to the citizens of Bengaluru. With this partnership, patients will have access to dialysis centres run by DaVita and the panel of nephrologists from Manipal Hospitals.

In addition to the partnership announcement, groundwork was laid for three new, state-of-the-art dialysis units in Bengaluru. These new centres will be part of the continuum of care between the two entities.

DaVita Kidney Care is part of DaVita Healthcare Partners, a Fortune 500 company that provides integrated healthcare and renal care. In India, DaVita operates 17 dialysis and kidney care centres providing holistic care for acute to end stage renal disease patients.

Across the world, we aim to be the provider, partner and employer of choice for dialysis and kidney care. Ultimately, with this partnership, we aim to bring together a team of highly experienced nephrologists with our high-quality dialysis services – a benefit for patients suffering from chronic kidney disease in the city,” said Shriram Vijayakumar, MD & CEO, DaVita Care India.

This partnership is based on sound principles of patient centric care. As a nephrologist myself, I have been aware of DaVita’s expertise across the United States and around the world. At the Department of Nephrology at MHE, our greatest achievements have been around providing high-quality tertiary care in the realm of transplants and acute care. Thus, this is a partnership that complements the services of the two organisations,” said Dr Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman, Manipal Hospitals.

He further added, “With this partnership, patients from MHE will have access to their own nephrologists with out-patient consultation at DaVita and in turn, DaVita’s patients undergoing dialysis will have access to a world-class team of nephrologists and transplant surgeons.”
