Docterz, a healthcare technology company founded by practising paediatrician Dr Atish Laddad, has raised ₹5 crore from approximately 35 investors. Nearly 60 per cent of the funding—close to ₹3 crore—has come from around 20 doctors who use the Docterz platform.

The investor group also includes Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, and Avnish Anand Co-founder and former CEO of CaratLane.

The participation of doctor-users marks a milestone in Docterz’s journey to build a trusted technology platform for medical practitioners—one that brings together modern tools for running a clinic with a focus on patient data security, clinical independence and the doctor–patient relationship.

“As a paediatrician, I started Docterz because I understood the challenges doctors face while managing a practice. Doctors want to give their patients the best possible care, but they also have to manage documentation, staff, appointments, follow-ups and the many other demands of running a clinic.

“Our ambition is to make Docterz the natural first choice for doctors who want the latest practical technology to run and grow their practices, along with confidence in how patient information is handled. We will use this funding to grow organically, explore inorganic opportunities and bring practical AI tools to the doctor community—tools that solve everyday problems and fit into the way doctors work.

“What makes this funding round special for me is that around 20 doctors who use Docterz have chosen to invest in its future. They know the product, they have seen its evolution, and they understand the needs of the medical community. Their trust brings with it a responsibility to keep listening and building for doctors,” said Dr Atish Laddad, Founder of Docterz.

The investor group includes doctors who have used the platform for several years. Dr Dhananjay Sangle, a paediatrician and Docterz user-investor, said, “I have been using Docterz for several years across my clinic’s paediatric and OB-GYN practices, and have found the software smooth, fast and easy to use. I have also known Dr Atish Laddad both personally and professionally for nearly 20 years, and have always been impressed by his business acumen, efficiency and dedication. My decision to invest in Docterz stems from my experience as a user as well as my confidence in the person building the company. I believe in what Docterz is working to achieve for the medical community.”

Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, said, “One of the strongest signals for any business is when its customers are willing to invest their own money in it. That is what drew me to Docterz. Dr Atish has built technology for his own community, and the doctors who use it every day are now choosing to invest in its future. I have always believed that the best way to solve a difficult problem is to have people who understand it deeply and dedicate themselves to solving it. Having worked with many entrepreneurs, I know how rare and hard-earned this kind of trust is. I am excited to back Dr Atish and his team and believe they are only getting started.”

Founded over a decade ago, Docterz brings together electronic medical records, appointments, billing, vaccination management and patient engagement in an integrated platform. Its technology supports more than 5,000 doctors across India, with a strong presence in paediatrics.

The company aims to give doctors access to tools that make everyday work easier and help them understand and manage their practices more effectively. Its approach places emphasis on privacy, security and responsible use of patient information, while respecting doctors’ clinical decisions and their direct relationships with patients.

Dr Suhas Warad, a paediatrician and Docterz investor, added, “I believe Docterz can be a valuable partner for modern medical practitioners, helping us manage our practices more efficiently and devote more time to what matters most: patient care. My decision to invest reflects my conviction that technology designed around doctors’ needs can make a meaningful difference to the way we practise medicine.”

The funding will support Docterz’s organic growth and inorganic expansion opportunities, enabling the company to reach more doctors and healthcare organisations across India. It will also be used to bring the latest practical technology to the medical community, including AI-enabled tools designed to help doctors with everyday clinical and practice-management tasks.

The focus is on making technology useful in daily practice—from documentation and administrative workflows to understanding practice data and supporting patient follow-up. Docterz also plans to reach more independent practitioners and smaller clinics, helping them adopt technology suited to the way they work.
