Genefitletics introduces Agegorithm to measure biological age at the molecular level
The machine learning-driven model analyses gut and oral microbiome functions to determine biological aging in comparison to chronological age
Genefitletics has launched Agegorithm, a machine learning-based human biology model that quantifies biological processes at the molecular and cellular level to measure biological age. The model evaluates the efficiency of gut and oral microbiome functions, as well as mitochondrial activity, to determine how an individual is aging at the cellular level in comparison to their chronological age.
The company states that Agegorithm is built on a mathematical algorithm that is entirely data-driven and developed using six billion molecular data points, phenotype metadata, and longitudinal data specific to the Indian adult population within the age range of 18 to 55 years. The company’s machine learning platform, PROTEBA, runs the algorithm to analyse molecular activity and mitochondrial efficiency, enabling it to assign a numerical value to biological age.
The model integrates more than 400 biochemical pathways and considers multiple health parameters, including oral health, immune system health, heart and metabolic health, energy efficiency, gut health, and stress response. The analysis identifies the sources of systemic inflammation and oxidative stress that contribute to accelerated aging. These insights are integrated into the company’s proprietary recommendation engine to design personalised nutritional therapeutics, supplements, and oral hygiene interventions aimed at optimising biochemical functions to improve biological age.
This biological age feature is integrated with the company’s full-body biochemistry solution, ORAHYG PRO, and is available at no additional cost.
