In a significant recognition of India’s growing influence in global healthcare leadership, Dr Prabhukumar Challagali, President of the Indian Medical Association Banjara Hills Branch, has been conferred the prestigious Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Leadership Award in the United States.

The award was presented by US Congressman Danny K. Davis, Member in collaboration with the National American Multi-Ethnic Commission, recognising Dr Challagali’s sustained contributions to healthcare access, global advocacy, and community service.

The honour comes alongside Dr Challagali’s participation as a speaker at the Health 2.0 Conference in Las Vegas, where he delivered a session titled “Healthcare AI: Enhancing Outcomes Through Intelligence.” According to the conference programme, the session explored how advanced algorithms and intelligent systems are enabling early disease detection, personalised treatment pathways, and predictive analytics, while also streamlining clinical workflows and decision-making across care settings.

His address focused on the practical integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery highlighting its role in improving diagnostic accuracy, supporting clinicians through virtual assistants, and enhancing efficiency in hospitals and clinics. The session drew participation from a global audience spanning over 160 countries, reflecting the growing international interest in AI-led healthcare transformation.

Beyond his clinical and academic engagements, Dr Challagali has been actively involved in public health initiatives, including organising free medical camps and advocating for equitable healthcare access. He currently serves as Global Ambassador for Climate Change and Convenor of the AI & Scientific Digital Health Committee at the Commonwealth Medical Association, where he contributes to shaping discourse on sustainable and technology-driven healthcare systems.

The IMA Banjara Hills Branch, in a statement, described the recognition as a proud moment for the medical fraternity in Telangana, noting that Dr Challagali’s achievements underscore the increasing role of Indian healthcare professionals in influencing global health policy and innovation.
