Jolly Healthcare has launched KETOJOL 4:1, a ketogenic diet formulation with a 4:1 fat-to-(protein + carbohydrate) ratio, for use in clinical nutrition and paediatric neurology. The formulation is manufactured under a pharmaceutical manufacturing licence.

Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE) affects nearly one in three epilepsy patients, who continue to experience uncontrolled seizures despite treatment with multiple Anti-Epileptic Drugs (AEDs). Published clinical literature indicates that classical Ketogenic Dietary Therapy (KDT), in which around 90 per cent of total calories are derived from fat, can result in a ≥50 per cent reduction in seizure frequency in 50–60 per cent of children with refractory epilepsy.

Addressing the launch, Avish Jolly, MD and CEO, Jolly Healthcare, stated, “For decades, families managing Drug-Resistant Epilepsy have faced severe execution barriers—from complex home calculations and poor pediatric palatability to long-term nutritional deficits and gastrointestinal distress. By securing classification under a pharmaceutical manufacturing license, KETOJOL 4:1 bridges the gap between strict clinical efficacy and real-world compliance. Enhanced with prebiotics (Inulin) for superior GI tolerance and formulated for child acceptance, our goal is to empower pediatric neurologists and dietitians with a practical, high-precision solution that supports uninterrupted childhood.”

The formulation contains the prebiotic Inulin and an enriched micronutrient profile. According to the company, these components are intended to support gastrointestinal tolerance and nutritional requirements during ketogenic dietary therapy.

Jolly Healthcare said the product will initially be made available through tertiary care hospitals, paediatric neurology centres and specialised dietetic clinics. The company has also introduced the ‘KETOJOL Keto Support Program’, which includes digital weighing protocols with 0.1g accuracy and caregiver education on administration.

KETOJOL 4:1 is intended for use under qualified medical supervision as an adjunct dietary therapy alongside prescribed clinical management.
