Across Max Healthcare close to 3,000 healthcare workers have been tested and approx. 2 per cent have come positive

Following the directives of the PM towards ensuring adequate safety and well-being of healthcare workers (HCW’s) and other patients, Max Healthcare is taking steps to ensure proactive testing of its staff and admitted patients for COVID-19.

ICMR too has relaxed its testing norms to allow us to test asymptomatic individuals who might be COVID-19 positive and carriers of the disease.

Max Healthcare thus has instituted mandatory COVID-19 testing for all its over 24,000 staff and all patients admitted in its hospitals.

This will lead to a greater number of COVID-19 patients being identified, isolated and treated. We believe this is the best way to fight the pandemic.

Across Max Healthcare close to 3,000 healthcare workers have been tested and approx. 2 per cent have come positive. This is significantly below the average incidence of the disease reported in the general population in Delhi. The incidence in Patparganj Hospital is a little higher as it is surrounded by hotspots, where many of our healthcare workers live.

Aggressive testing, isolation and treatment of healthcare workers is the only way of ensuring safety of HCW’s, patients and the hospital. Max Healthcare has at present 200 COVID-19 patients at its facilities in Delhi and Mumbai.
