PD Hinduja Hospital & MRC conducts convocation and inaugural session for its Allied Health Sciences Courses

The subsequent batch will also have a new phlebotomy specialisation added to its existing courses

PD Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre has initiated its Allied Health Sciences Courses. It offers courses for medical, paramedical and also management studies. The aim is to provide formal education and training not only to the employees but also to all other individuals who seek career opportunity in these fields.

Over 50 students who passed out flying colours celebrated their convocation at the event. The event also brought in the advent of the succeeding batch (2015-2016). The subsequent batch will also have a new phlebotomy specialisation added to its existing courses. More than 50 students have enrolled themselves for the next batch, informed the hospital.

Applauding the students for their performances and encouraging the new students, Dr Satish Pawar, Director, Health Services, Directorate Health Services, Maharashtra said, “It’s an honour to grace this specialised educational programme which is a great initiative by PD Hinduja Hospital. They offer international quality infrastructure and curriculum for the students to groom themselves as skilled technologists. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the students for their success and wish the newbies all the very best. I am confident that each one of you will achieve great triumph in the near future.”

Reportedly, many of the Allied Health Sciences courses have received an affiliation from the Health Sector Skills Council (HSSC), which is constituted and supported by National Skills Development Corporation. The affiliation from the council makes PD Hinduja Hospital & MRC the first hospital in the country to have been certified to conduct these allied health courses under Star Scheme of Government of India, claims an official release.
