Sahyadri Hospitals launches comprehensive epilepsy clinic in Pune

A month-long free epilepsy screening camp will be conducted at Sahyadri Speciality Hospital Deccan Gymkhana till June 30, 2017

Sahyadri Speciality Hospital, Deccan Gymkhana, launched an epilepsy clinic, to cater to all concerns of patients suffering from the disorder. The clinic was launched in the presence of Dr Charudutt Apte, Chairman, Sahyadri Hospitals and Dr Deepa Divekar, Medical Director, Sahyadri Hospitals. It aims to provide medical and social support to patients suffering from epilepsy. In addition to providing world class treatment for seizures and epilepsy, Sahyadri’s epilepsy clinic will also educate patients and their families to better manage the disease.

Dr Charudutt Apte, Chairman, Sahyadri Hospitals said, “We aim to provide a holistic approach towards our treatment for patients suffering from epilepsy. Our team of epileptologist, neurologist, paediatric neurologists, epilepsy surgeons, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists physiotherapists, amongst others will be a part of the clinic.”

The core expert team of Sahyadri’s Epilepsy Clinic consists of paediatric neurologists Dr. Deepa Divekar and Dr Abhijeet Botre, epileptologist Dr Suyog Doshi, epilepsy surgeon Dr Amit Dhakoji, team of neurologists including Dr Pradeep Divate, Dr Hemant Sant and Dr Mangesh Udar. The medical team is well supported by specialists like psychiatrist – Dr Ashutosh Chauhan and Dr Nishchal Rawal, Neuro-Psychologists – Kirti Joglekar, occupational therapist – Prabjyot Kaur, Clinical Psychometrist – Nupur Dhakephalkar, Speech Therapist – Sunil Patil and physiotherapist – Rohini Dange, along with other medical experts.

Sahyadri Hospitals also has a dedicated Paediatric Epilepsy Management Program, offering comprehensive care of the patients having epilepsy in childhood. With more than 10,000 children registered under this programme, it helps in the medical, cognitive and motor development of the patients through various interactive sessions.
