Healthcare track to focus on building resilient hospital infrastructure by integrating end-to-end hospital infrastructure, operational efficiency and enhancing patient experience across the hospital lifecycle

Being cognizant of the changing landscape of the buildings of today and with the foresight to create smart buildings powered by digital transformation, Schneider Electric, a leader of digital transformation of energy management and automation, presented deep insights across buildings management, power distribution and the integration of sustainability with technology during the ‘Buildings of the Future’ track at their ongoing Digital Innovation Summit 2021.

Schneider Electric’s Digital Innovation Summit, currently underway from October 19-21, brought together leading industry experts to discuss digital innovation pertinent for creating Smart buildings along with the way forward for industries to facilitate digitisation and decarbonisation.

Speaking about how technology is transforming the healthcare sector and has steadily become the most integral part of the new normal, Dr Sujit Chatterjee, CEO, Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital said, “Rapidly evolving technologies, along with demographic and economic changes are expected to alter hospitals worldwide. The time to leverage digitisation and ensure optimal efficiency in the delivery of healthcare, diagnostics and treatment is crucial. Digitization has not only transformed the safeguarding of patient records but has also enhanced diagnostics and operational standards. Automated tools like customer relationship management (CRM) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) have built transparency, speed, and convenience. In order to ensure that hospitals are able to handle unexpected and unforeseen circumstances, we must invest in resilient hospital infrastructures that can withstand all times and render continuous care, safety and health.”

Expanding further on the available smart digital solutions, Bhupesh Arora, Business Head, Digital Energy, Schneider Electric India, said, “There is an increasing need for transformative intervention and solutions in the expansive healthcare sector. Integrating smart, digital solutions across the healthcare infrastructure invariably boosts the hospitals’ ability to meet unprecedented times, enable operational efficiency and maintain the paramount safety of all individuals. Our EcoStruxure platform helps in integrating end-to-end hospital infrastructure, operational efficiency and enhancing patient experience across the hospital lifecycle. It not only improves the safety and security of patients but also builds increased resilience through seamless control infrastructure that stands tall against any external rigours. Buildings of the future will be helmed by the technologies that we are witnessing and paving the way for today.”

The Innovation Talk delved into revamping structures and creating future-ready buildings to leverage the framework of an All-Digital, All Electric World for more sustainable, resilient, hyper-efficient and people-centric buildings. The talk evaluated the need for technological innovation and sustained efforts in deploying digitization to bolster the sector and reimagine buildings as they are seen today. Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Power, being all-encompassing solution empowers electrical infrastructure to deliver reliability, increase uptime, and stabilize networks with harmonics control, uninterruptible power supplies and mitigation solutions, thereby empowering resilient buildings of the future.

Speaking about the event, Ramesh Nair, CEO, India & Managing Director, Market Development, Asia at Colliers said, “By 2025, 13% of India’s GDP is expected to be derived from the real estate sector. Among the other categories, commercial real estate continues to be the forerunner and is undergoing a tremendous digital transformation. According to a recent study by the United Nations, buildings use about 40% of global energy and emit about one third of greenhouse gas emissions. Data and technology is significantly impacting the commercial real estate sector. We are undertaking the process of enhancing every service offering through the use of technology. Buildings of Future need to have IoT-enabled smart technologies that help in breaking down silos and transforming workflows phenomenally. These technologies help buildings and structures attain superior levels of safety and sustainability while creating truly digital, productive and connected workspaces.”

Schneider Electric’s flagship three day virtual Innovation Summit, is aimed at sparking conversations around the need for integrating sustainability with business. The event with central theme ‘Digital: the path to sustainability with Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’ is bringing forth industry leaders and policy makers to deliberate and discuss upon how we can build a sustainable and resilient future for India.
