M | O | C launches first neighbourhood cancer treatment facility in Delhi
With this launch, M | O | C advances its mission of delivering comprehensive, decentralised oncology services through neighbourhood-based centres that provide world-class treatment
M | O | C Cancer Care and Research Centre, India’s largest network of neighbourhood cancer-care facilities, achieved a major milestone in its national expansion with the launch of its first centre in the capital at Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The inauguration was graced by author and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap Khurana, along with leading oncologists, healthcare professionals, and community members from across Delhi-NCR.
With this launch, M | O | C advances its mission of delivering comprehensive, decentralised oncology services through neighbourhood-based centres that provide world-class treatment, personalised attention, and a seamless patient experience. The Delhi facility marks the organisation’s entry into the capital after successfully establishing 25 centres across India.
Strategically located on Ring Road in Lajpat Nagar III, the centre bridges the gap between tertiary hospitals and local accessibility by offering evidence-based oncology services—including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, diagnostics, counselling, and cashless insurance—within a convenient, day-care setting. This model reduces the need for prolonged hospital stays, easing both financial and logistical burdens for patients and their families.
According to the ICMR-NCRP 2024, India registered over 15.3 lakh new cancer cases in 2024, a number projected to rise to 18 lakh by 2030. Delhi remains among the metros with the highest cancer incidence, driven by pollution, lifestyle factors, tobacco use, and delayed screening. Breast, lung, oral, colorectal and cervical cancers continue to dominate the city’s cancer load. Given this growing burden, decentralised cancer care has become not only beneficial—but essential.
Traditionally, large hospital systems face challenges of overcrowding, long waiting times, and increased risks of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Neighbourhood oncology centres like M | O | C provides a safer, faster, and more patient-centric alternative, enabling people to receive high-quality treatment closer to home.
Aditya Bahadur, Chief Operating Officer – North India, M | O | C Cancer Care & Research Centre, said, “Delhi has one of the highest cancer burdens in India, and many patients lose crucial time travelling or navigating complex hospital systems. Our Lajpat Nagar centre reflects our commitment to making cancer care accessible, affordable, and patient-focused. By decentralising oncology services through technologically advanced neighbourhood centres, we aim to ensure timely interventions, reduce hospital load, and enhance patient experience. This launch marks a significant step in establishing a strong network across North India.”
Dr. Raman Narang, Oncologist, M | O | C Delhi, shared, “Our goal is to make cancer treatment not only clinically effective but also emotionally supportive. With this centre, patients no longer need to navigate crowded hospitals or travel long distances for routine therapies. They can now receive safe, high-quality care in a facility dedicated entirely to oncology, right in their neighbourhood.”
Dr. Nikhil Himthani, Oncologist, M | O | C Delhi, added, “Cancer care must be timely, precise, and rooted in empathy. Our exclusive focus on oncology ensures that every member of our clinical team is aligned with the unique needs of cancer patients. This centre will significantly ease the burden on families and improve treatment outcomes across the capital.”
The lead oncologists hosting the launch emphasised the value of dedicated oncology environments where doctors, nurses, and paramedics are trained specifically to manage both the clinical and emotional complexities of cancer. Treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy can be delivered safely without hospital admission, allowing for a calmer, more personalised care experience.
