Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital to set up blood pressure checkup camps in Pune

Marking the occasion of World Hypertension Day on May 17, 2018, Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, will set up free blood pressure check up camp for citizens at 25 places across Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune. The check up camp will be set up at Dange Chowk, Bhel Chowk in Nigdi, Parihar Chowk in Aundh, Dagdusheth Mandir, Shivaji Nagar Bus stop, Pune Railway station, Pune airport, Mezza 9 square in Hinjewadi, Dasara Chowk in Balewadi and in few major IT and Automobile companies mainly Quadron, Hexaware & L&T Hinjewadi and CNH Industrial & Mahindra Heavy Engines, Chakan. Moreover, free ECGs will be conducted at Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital and Aditya Birla Health Stores for individuals who have high blood pressure.

“Over a billion people all over the world suffer from hypertension and it is predicted to increase by 60 per cent to 1.56 billion in 2025. It kills 8 million people every year worldwide”, shared Rekha Dubey, CEO, Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital. “Blood pressure should be monitored regularly because it is a barometer of health and there are often no symptoms to alert one to the presence of high BP. High blood pressure can cause countless problems like stroke, heart disease, kidney failure. So, it’s better to keep it under control by adhering to lifestyle changes or appropriate medicines if indicated”, she further added.
