CureMeAbroad, a global healthcare platform helping patients discover, verify and book treatment with vetted hospitals abroad, has announced the close of its $1.1 million pre-seed round, led by healthcare-focused venture capital fund SteerX Ventures, with existing investor AIRA also participating with additional capital. The investment will support CureMeAbroad’s expansion across international patient source markets, growth of its hospital network and further development of its technology platform.

Founded in 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad is building an end-to-end platform for patients seeking healthcare across borders. Oza previously built EV brand EMotorad to $100 million+, while Bohra bootstrapped Harbor365 to $10 million.

CureMeAbroad enables patients to discover and compare hospitals, verify providers against JCI or equivalent national accreditation, receive treatment estimates, book care and access support through their treatment journey. The company currently supports more than 22,500 visitors a month and has built a hospital network spanning six countries.

The investment comes as demand for cross-border healthcare continues to grow, with patients increasingly looking beyond their home markets for quality care at more accessible costs. CureMeAbroad is building technology and infrastructure aimed at bringing greater transparency, verification and accountability to the medical travel process.

Commenting on the investment, Aditya Oza, Co-Founder and CEO, CureMeAbroad, said, “SteerX didn’t need convincing that this category needs an AI-native platform, they’d already reached that conclusion before we sat down. Lalit Singla’s team understood the mechanics of value travel well enough that our first conversation skipped the education and went straight to how we prove accountability at scale. That’s rare this early, and it told us we’re building the platform this category has been waiting for.”

Lalit Singla, Founder and CEO, SteerX Ventures, said, “High healthcare costs and long waiting periods are encouraging patients in markets such as the US, Europe and Australia to explore quality care across borders. CureMeAbroad is building the technology and infrastructure required to make that journey more trusted and seamless. What stood out to us was the founders’ platform-first approach and their focus on connecting telemedicine, fintech and AI across the patient journey. We see an opportunity for CureMeAbroad to reduce the friction associated with accessing quality healthcare across geographies.”

The fresh capital will be deployed towards expanding CureMeAbroad’s accredited hospital network, entering new patient source markets, strengthening its AI-powered technology and building its operations and technology teams. The company will also expand its treatment mix into non-elective specialties, including orthopaedics and oncology, while exploring physical experience centres in key international markets.

CureMeAbroad is targeting $100 million in annual patient treatment bookings by FY2028, compared with a current $4.8 million run rate. Its key source markets include the US, UK, Australia and Canada, with the company continuing to expand its international footprint.

SteerX Ventures is a healthcare-focused venture capital fund based in India, investing from pre-seed through Series A across care delivery, diagnostics, digital health and medical technology. The firm has built a SEBI-registered Category I AIF Angel Fund dedicated to the healthcare sector.
