Cytecare Cancer Hospitals, a new network of comprehensive patient-centric, organ-site focused cancer hospitals, will launch its first 150-bed facility in Bengaluru soon. This marks the company’s foray into the Indian market. The venture is largely equity funded, and has successfully raised about Rs 165 crore of capital.

The 150-bed hospital will offer services related to the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer, including chemotherapy, advanced surgical and critical care capabilities, radiotherapy, pain and palliative care, clinical counselling, advanced diagnostics, radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology and blood bank services. These comprehensive facilities will enable and support the delivery of standardised treatment protocols and ensure a holistic and personalised approach to cancer care.

The hospital will work to the highest standards of quality, governance and clinical excellence supervised by a multi-disciplinary Tumour Board. The hospital will empower patients with information and counselling and will also have a strong focus on support services such as nursing, physiotherapy and nutrition.

Suresh Ramu, Co-founder and CEO, Cytecare Hospitals said, “Cytecare aims to revolutionise cancer care by delivering personalised cancer treatment through organ-site specialisation, international standards of care, a patient-centric culture and strong focus on research. The hospital is led by a team of professionals with over 100+ person-years of experience in leading healthcare, research, and life sciences businesses globally. They have been brought together by a common objective – to provide high quality and comprehensive cancer care in India. Our expert medical team of specialist medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, supported by state-of-the art technology and advanced equipment, will help us realise this goal.”

Ferzaan Engineer, Co-Founder and Chairman, Cytecare Hospitals added, “Our analysis of cancer treatment in India helped us identify the demand-supply gap in terms of access to global best practices, research protocols and the highest standards of patient care. We will establish Centres of Excellence in cancer care across major Indian cities using a scalable hub-and-spoke model. We have raised approximately Rs 165 crores of capital from global investors to fund our flagship hospital in Bengaluru. Fresh funds will be raised for new hospitals and sub-centres in other cities.”
