mom’s belief, an innovative, hands-onprogram for the parents of special needs children, has announced the appointment of two of India’s top psychologists to its clinical team.
Clinical psychologist Dr Roma Kumar is currently a senior consultant at Max Hospital (Gurugram) and at the Institute of Child Health, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (Delhi) and Dr Manju Mehta is a professor and consultant to Holy Family Hospital and formerly the head of the Child and Adolescent Clinic, Department of Psychiatry at AIIMS (Delhi). Both Dr Kumar and Dr Mehta join mom’s belief as Clinical Advisers.
Dr Kumar and Dr Mehta will guide mom’s belief’s child psychologists to tailor programmes in order to meet pecific needs of each child, applying decades of experience to ensure positive and lasting clinical outcomes. They will also contribute to the company’s R & D activities and the development of strategic alliances that help to extend the reach of the guided therapy program.
Both professionals bring a wealth of expertise and decades of experience and dedication to the field of psychology. Their appointment signals the company’s intent to deliver a special needs programme of the highest quality by tapping the knowledge and experience of these widely respected psychologists.

A clinical psychologist with nearly 30 years of experience, Dr Kumar has set up three special schools and developed admissions procedures and camps for several schools. Dr Kumar has conducted parent and teacher training seminars and workshops in various mental health issues.
Dr. Kumar has also served as visiting faculty at the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development and Amity University. She also works closely with Indira Gandhi National Open University in developing curriculum for its distance learning program in learning disabilities. She is associated with the Delhi Council for Child Welfare, along with various central and state education boards.
Dr. Kumar is chairperson of the Association for Development of Multiply Handicapped Children and holds the title of secretary for both Action Dyslexia Delhi – Beyond Education and the Vatsalya Education and Cultural Society.
With 40 years in the field of psychology, Dr Mehta has served as adjunct faculty at the Centre of Medical Education Technology, AIIMS. She also developed course curricula in the fields of clinical psychology, counselling psychology, family therapy and behavioral sciences for universities such as Tribhuvan Teaching University (Nepal); B P Koirala Institute (Nepal); Central University (Patna); Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai); and Indira Gandhi National Open University (Delhi). Dr Mehta is a consultant to the Delhi Public School Society.
Dr Mehta served as president of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychology, the Indian Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and the Indian Society for Pain Research and Therapy. She was a member of the planning and monitoring committee at the National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore.
Dr Mehta has won multiple awards, including the Govindaswamy Memorial Gold Medal for Distinction in DM & SP, NIMHANS, Bangalore, and Best Clinical Psychologist Award by Delhi Association of Clinical Psychologists.
