Fortis Hospitals hosts HR conclave to reinvent the role of HR in post-COVID world

The conclave aimed to help the HRs understand and manage the processes, protocols, for well-being of the employees and way forward to operate in the new normal in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic was a global catastrophe that impacted economies and livelihoods worldwide. To navigate challenges and criticalities arising out of the pandemic, organizations are trying to understand whether the ways of operating in the past are a good fit for post-pandemic future too. In this endeavor, Human Resources (HR) verticals of organisations have a unique advantage as they are positioned to empower enterprises to recover and thrive in the ever-changing world of work, play a vital leadership role in shaping the way that an organisation hires & develops talent sources, and break away from traditional operating models to create new ones aimed at achieving more extensive & successful work outcomes.

To help HR verticals strategically achieve these goals, Fortis Hospitals Mumbai hosted an HR Conclave – ‘Reinventing Role of HR In the New Normal’ in Mumbai. The conclave aimed to help the HRs understand and manage the processes, protocols, for well-being of the employees and way forward to operate in the new normal in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The HR Conclave was attended by more than 100 HR managers, HR Directors and CXOs from leading corporates in Mumbai, including senior leadership from Fortis Healthcare.

The program was spread across three insightful sessions, including ‘Employees Mental Health & COVID-19’, ‘women at work – navigating the pandemic and reimagining the workplace’ and ‘adapting to a new normal’.

Rajan B Pandey, Chief Human Resource Officer, Fortis Healthcare, said, “The COVID19 pandemic brought about a paradigm in the functioning of organizations across the globe. This in turn, impacted employees’ work-life with the advent of long working hours, stress of job loss, and the adoption of hybrid working model. Through today’s conclave, we wanted to aid HROs to play a pivotal role in helping organizations manage their COVID19 response by keeping the workforce engaged, productive, and resilient. The time has come for HR systems to re-imagine its future in employee engagement and the future of the business/enterprise, and this conclave was a progressive step in that direction.”
