P D Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre and the State Transformation Commission, Government of Uttar Pradesh (STC-UP), have joined hands to strengthen maternal and adolescent healthcare across 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The programme was launched by Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister, Medical Health & Family Welfare.

The event was held at the Ram Prakash Gupta Maternity & Child State Referral Hospital in Lucknow, where  Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister, Medical Health & Family Welfare, flagged off a fully equipped Hinduja Mobile Health Unit. Supported by qualified clinical and technical teams, the unit will provide point-of-care diagnostics, counselling and referral support. STC-UP will facilitate district-level coordination, administrative approvals and access to schools and community sites, supporting the programme’s integration with the state health system.

The programme will focus on two key beneficiary groups: Matrishakti, comprising pregnant and lactating women under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Sankalp Yojna, and Yuva, covering adolescents aged 13–19 years in government and aided schools as well as community settings.

This state programme is part of P D Hinduja Hospital’s national health initiative, “Saving Lives. Building a Healthier Bharat,” inaugurated by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on February 24, 2026, at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai, as part of the hospital’s 75th year celebrations.  The year-long initiative marks the hospital’s commitment to carrying forward its legacy of service and contributing to the vision of a healthier and more prosperous Viksit Bharat.

Brajesh Pathak said, “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Hinduja Group for undertaking this important initiative at a national level. The objective of this initiative is to ensure better healthcare services and a better quality of life for our mothers and children – who are the foundation of India’s future. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that mothers remain healthy and have timely access to all essential healthcare facilities, including those related to childbirth.

I am proud that this important campaign was inaugurated by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu . The effort to take healthcare services to the last mile through Mobile Health Units is highly commendable. The Uttar Pradesh Government will work shoulder to shoulder with Hinduja Hospital to further strengthen these efforts in the healthcare sector and extend all possible support.”

Ashok P. Hinduja, Chairman, P D Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, said, “When we launched ‘Saving Lives. Building a Healthier Bharat’ to commemorate our 75th year, we made a commitment to take the experience and expertise built by P D Hinduja Hospital beyond the walls of our institution and closer to communities across India. Our initiative is closely aligned with the vision of our  Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, of building a healthier and more prosperous Viksit Bharat by 2047. Uttar Pradesh is an important step in taking that commitment forward, in keeping with the vision and leadership of Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath. Through this collaboration, we hope to complement the State’s infrastructure and efforts to strengthen care for mothers and adolescents and contribute to a healthier Bharat. We are grateful to  Deputy Chief Minister  Brajesh Pathak  for enabling us to take this initiative forward.”

The event was also graced by H.E.
