OET and IIMSTC join hands to advance healthcare communication and global career readiness

As healthcare systems across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and other major destinations continue to face workforce shortages, communication skills are increasingly recognised as a critical clinical competency alongside technical expertise. Responding to this growing need, OET, the global leader in healthcare English language assessment, has partnered with the International Institute of Medical Sciences and Technical Council (IIMSTC), a leading professional body dedicated to advancing healthcare education and professional development, to help prepare India’s healthcare professionals for international careers through profession-specific communication, awareness initiatives and collaborative learning programmes.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), OET and IIMSTC will jointly deliver educational programmes, workshops, faculty engagement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities to strengthen profession-specific healthcare communication skills across India’s healthcare education ecosystem. By combining OET’s global expertise in healthcare communication with IIMSTC’s extensive network of healthcare institutions and professionals, the partnership aims to improve awareness of global healthcare communication standards and better prepare healthcare professionals for international practice while contributing to stronger communication capabilities within India’s healthcare sector.

IIMSTC is a parastatal council is an association of legendary medical practitioners, educators, chancellors, vice chancellors, judicial officers and scientist, registered with Ministry of corporate affairs, NITI Aayog, MSME, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of finance etc also spread the length and breadth of the globe having offices at New-York, USA, Netherland, South Korea, South Africa, and Mozambique. IIMSTC is connected with 100+ prominent universities in India and abroad. This collaboration with OET and IIMSTC with an intention to reach maximum students highlighting IIMSTC’s network among students in the healthcare sector.

Developed specifically for 12 healthcare professions, OET is accepted by more than 550 organisations worldwide and supports tens of thousands of healthcare professionals from over 100 countries every month. Its profession-specific approach enables candidates to demonstrate the communication skills required for registration, employment and study across leading international healthcare systems, making it one of the most widely recognised healthcare English language assessments globally.

Over the coming months, both organisations will roll out joint initiatives designed to build awareness of global communication standards, strengthen learner readiness and support India’s next generation of healthcare professionals as they pursue careers across international healthcare systems.
