The event was organised to create awareness about adopting healthy lifestyle

More than 2000 people participated in the walk for a healthy heart Walkathon . It was held on October 9 on the occasion of 11th Foundation Day of Bhanubhai and Madhuben Patel Cardiac Centre of Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad to create awareness about adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The Walkathon was flagged off by Kanti Chavda, Palika Pramukh, Anand Nagar Palika in the presence of Bhikhubhai Patel, Chairman, Sonalben Patel, Palika Pramukh, VV Nagar Palika, Dr Amrita Patel, Trustee and Ex -Chairman, Jagrut Bhatt, Hon Secretary and other dignitaries of NDDB, IDMC and Vidya Dairy.
Walkers carrying placards with messages on healthy heart and prevention of heart diseases drew appreciative response.

Bhatt said, “This is a new concept for the new world – prevention is better than cure . Walking is also a great form of physical activity and people should cultivate this habit and make walking as a part of routine. Thousands of participants showcasing a lot of eagerness, in the wee hours of the morning is a healthy sign. Corporates and institutes lent a helping hand in making the programme a success.

Dr Patel said , “This is the fifth consecutive year of Walkathon to bring awareness in the people about adopting healthier habits .We appeal to the people to stay healthy and adopt a healthy lifestyle so that they do not need to visit the hospital. People should do regular physical exercises and consumption of healthy food is the need of the hour.”
